Here are my top 10 reasons to commit to a regularly scheduled time slot as a prayer partner or sidewalk advocate:
1. We’re called to be our brother and sister’s keepers.
2. We are and will be held accountable for what we do in this life.
3. We’re called to live this life gaining graces to inherit in Heaven and to bring as many others as we can with us. Don’t you want to meet those babies and moms who were saved because of God’s grace and your prayers someday, rather than face the sadness of those whose lives were lost because we could have done more?
4. The devil wants to keep us from the graces that abound when we defend the least of our brothers and sisters. Beloved, don’t give him the satisfaction!
5. We are examples to our children and grandchildren – what shall we say when they ask us, “Mom/Dad, where were you? What were we doing while babies were being murdered for profit and for sale?”
6. This life is not our own, it is ransomed by our Lord Jesus Christ our Redeemer. We shall defend the lives of the most innocent and vulnerable
7. There are real lives hanging in the balance. At least we can be there to pray for the tiny pre-born babies as they are led off to their death. No one, and I mean no one, should die alone.
8. Moms and dads need and want your encouragement that they are strong, that they can do this, and they need to hear that there are hundreds of people who are waiting with open arms to help financially, materially and spiritually.
9. If you don’t, who will? And who will stand for you when the time comes to defend your life?
10. There are times when a woman in an unsupported pregnancy is walking into an abortion clinic looking for a sign, a sign of peace, a sign of hope, a sign of love and charity. Brothers and sisters, be that sign.
