Father Stephen Imbarrato was ordained to the priesthood in 2005, in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, NM. Soon after his ordination Fr. Stephen founded Project Defending Life in Albuquerque, which included obtaining the building right next door to a local Planned Parenthood from which he was able to run a pregnancy resource center, have a mission base for sidewalk counselors, and start a Holy Innocents Chapel where he celebrated two Masses each week and from which he led Eucharistic Processions to the Planned Parenthood next door, while leading Prayers of Exorcism.

Prior to all of this, Fr. Imbarrato began pro-life work in the early nineties as a political activist, but soon realized the call to pro-life ministry. When he entered Holy Apostles Seminary in 2000, he directed their Life League and while still in the seminary founded St. Gerard’s Center for Life in Hartford. He was also National Coordinator of Seminarians for Life a ministry of Priests for Life. As a Deacon, he was the first post-abortive man to give his witness as part of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign.

Fr. Stephen began working full time for Priests for Life in June 2015, and is now commonly known as the “Protest Priest” because he travels around the country protesting and speaking to pro-lifers about how he believes we can end pre-born child-killing in 5 years or less through national protests which culminate in a national strike.

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato is also an EWTN homilist and a co-host of the long-running television show Defending Life which can be seen on EWTN every Wednesday and Thursday.
